Café Monumento Atlantico - take a look at the Skyline of Las Palmas

Gorgeous view over the peninsula of Las Palmas

The Café Monumento Atlantico is approximately two kilometres away from the opera house Auditorio Kraus. From there you can have a fantastic look at the peninsula on which Las Palmas is located. It is especially beautiful there in the evening just before sunset and the ideal stop after coming back from trips to Gran Canaria!

You can easily reach the Café by foot – from the opera house Auditorio Kraus, which is at the western end of the Canteras beach, it is a 15 minutes’ walk along the rugged shore. The steep coast is becoming higher and higher, until you finally reach the Café. It is at the level of 30 metres above sea level and reveals a stunning view over the 3.5 km long Canteras beach, Confital beach and the districts of Guanarteme, Santa Catalina, and La Isleta.

Probably the best way to reach the Café is by car, because it is the perfect first or last stop during trips to the north coast of Gran Canaria. It is opened from Tuesday to Sunday between 10am and 10pm. You should not expect any culinary delicacies, but like already mentioned before the view over Las Palmas is spectacular.

Only a few metres ahead is the Monument Atlantico. Immediately below this statue steep staircases are leading down to the roaring sea. From there you can watch some daring locals who are sitting on the rocks at heavy seas and are fishing.
