Shopping center Las Arenas
The shopping paradise directly on Canteras beach.
Las Arenas is located on the southwest end of Canteras beach, directly behind the Auditorio Kraus opera house and Jardines del Atlantico park. Although this shopping center is not the biggest one of its kind, it is one of the best shopping centers in the city, not only because of its great location.
On three floors one can find several fashion boutiques, mobile-, sports-, furniture and jewelry stores, banks, a hardware store, a post office and travel agencies. The huge Carrefour supermarket, which sells everything from various brands of German beer to a TV or a camping tent, constitutes the heart of the shopping center. Also, the seafood section of Carrefour is a true insider tip.
Just like in the shopping center El Muelle, Las Arenas has its own self titled movie theater (admission: 4,50 Euro), which is located on the first floor. On the same floor visitors have the opportunity to become familiar with international cuisines in various restaurants. After dining one can relax on the close-by terrace by having a drink in one of the cafès and enjoying the amazing view over Canteras beach.
Among all of the shopping centers in the city, Las Arenas is undoubtedly the most child friendliest. On the upper level a huge play section is situated, equipped with slides, pools filled with colourful balls, swings and a big play room. Regular events for children, such as bouncing castles or ice skating on artificial ice, take place on the terrace.
