Sightseeing in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria
The districts: colonial houses, churches, lanes and places
Las Palmas is a very streched city. The older parts are located nearby the ocean, the younger districts in the upper town - ciudad alta - strech from the old town Vegueta up to the mountains. the touristic most interesting districts strech from the old town Vegueta and Triana across the districts Ciudad Jardín and Alcaravaneras to Santa Catalina/Canteras and the old harbor quarter Isleta. Also interesitng are the older districts above the old town, San Juan ann San Nicolas. Not because of the sights but because of the atmosphere.
The most sights are placed in Vegueta and the newer old town Triana. A good overview over the entire Vegueta, Triana and anjoining parts of the town, you get from on top of the massive towers of the catheral (elevator).
In the pages of Las-Palmas-24.com you will find beyond information about the famous sights of the old town some insider hints away from the ususal tourist paths. For a better clarity the information is ordered by the respective districts.
