The studios and apartments of "Catalina Park" are located directly in the pedestrian area between the Parque Santa Catalina and Canteras beach. For as little as 42 Euros a day you can spend a night in well tended and well appointed apartments. A recomendable opportunity if you compare other prices for local lodging in Las Palmas near "Canteras Beach".
Don´t worry: although the apartments are located right in the centre of Santa Catalina, which is one of the liveliest areas of the city, you will enjoy wonderful calm, especially in the apartments and studios facing the inner courtyard. You can alternatively book one of these calmer apartments (facing the inner courtyard) or the more lively ones with lateral beach view, facing "Thomas Miller" Road.
This means that you will have no problem sleeping undisturbed and peacefully in your vacacional rental. Around the apartment, pulsates the international southern life of the Grand Canarias' capital. The guest benefits from numerous international restaurants, Indian and Asian electrical supply stores in which you can find many great top-quality bargains, innumerable bars, discos and cafés which are located in the immediate vicinity of the lodgings. You can count with a general rebate around 10 % to 30 % in prices compared with the southern part of Gran Canaria island.
All apartments are equipped with an own, fully-furnished kitchen (fridge, dishes, hot plates), a bedroom with 2 beds, a small lounge, TV and en suite.
Directly in front of the apartment, the Calle Ripoche, which was transformed into a pedestrian area and which is lined with numerous shops, leads you to one of the most beautiful places of the city: the Parque Santa Catalina. Directly behind the park, stretches one of the biggest harbours of the Atlantic Ocean: Puerto de la Luz. Gigantic cruisers, tanker ships and cargo ships come and go. Between Parque Santa Catalina and the harbour there is one of Europe's most modern shopping centres, called "El Muelle". For the little ones, there is an attraction right in front of the door: the technical theme park museum "Elder".
As we said: you certainly will not get bored around your local lodging Catalina Park … On the back of the building there are even some apartments from which you can have a lateral view of Canteras Beach and the ocean. Catalina Park does not offer frontal ocean view, but in the high season it is difficult anyway to get a room with ocean view, also in other houses – in each case ocean front apartments often are a bit overpriced in relation to interior comfort. What you get most of the time in the lodgings in the first beach row are only "rooms-for-rent" facing the inner courtyard, which are more spacious and calmer in Catalina Park (than in those apartments in the first row).
By the way: the city’s gem, Canteras Beach, is only 200 metres away. Fun splash, shopping, night life, cuisine and cultural events – a certainly attractive package. Additional question: where, in South Gran Canaria, on the Playa Inglés or in Maspalomas, do you get such spacious, fully equipped, calm and favourably priced apartments with occasions for free-time activities this near and only a few hundred metres distance to the beach?
The ideal starting point for getting to know Gran Canaria: the short distance to the bus station Terminal Santa Catalina (only 5 mins. by foot) also makes Catalina Park the ideal starting point for exploring the whole island.
