Café Parque San Telmo – in the old town of Triana
The Café tip in the old part of Las Palmas
This modernist pavilion in the Parque San Telmo is one of the social centres in the old town district Triana. Between the 19th and 20th century modernism flourished in Triana, which was a seedy and desolate district at the time. Although it is only small, this kiosk is not unimpressive at all. Due to its unusual style it is in marked contrast to the surrounding buildings.
The kiosk would rather fit to Barcelona – the birthplace of modernism, and it seems as if a homesick Catalan has brought it from Barcelona to Las Palmas. Today it houses a comfortable Café with reasonable prices. While sitting under palm trees you can watch the hustle and bustle in the Parque San Telmo.
