Swap the pavement for the water on this 75-minute boat tour of Las Palmas harbour. Sail past Vegueta's old town, Ciudad Jardín and Playa de Las Alcaravaneras while a multilingual audioguide fills in the history. A welcome drink is included, and the boat leaves twice daily from Muelle Wilson.
Overview
See Las Palmas de Gran Canaria from a different angle: the water. The City Sightseeing harbour boat tour is a relaxed 75-minute cruise around Puerto de la Luz, the working port that shapes the city's east side. The boat leaves twice a day from Muelle Wilson, close to City Sightseeing bus stop 9, so it's easy to combine with the hop-on-hop-off city bus.
The Route: What You'll See
The boat follows the coastline past several of the city's best-known spots. Along the way, you'll pass Playa de Las Alcaravaneras, the green residential district of Ciudad Jardín, and the historic old town of Vegueta. You'll also get a good look at the different piers and basins that make up Puerto de la Luz, one of the busiest ports in the Canary Islands.
A welcome drink is included on board, and a multilingual audioguide (German, English and Spanish) explains the history and background of each place as it comes into view.
Prices & Tickets
Standard tickets cost €20 for adults and €10 for children, with babies travelling free. Reduced rates are available for residents.
Good to Know Before You Go
- Weather-dependent: the tour can be cancelled at short notice in poor conditions.
- Limited capacity: the boat fills up quickly in high season or on busy days, so booking ahead is a good idea.
- Accessibility: access and comfort on board may be limited for passengers with reduced mobility.
