via Artenara and Tirma to El Risco or Agaete
via Artenara and Tirma to the west coast of Gran Canaria: MTB Tour B4 Gran Canaria
One of the highlights of our tour range: Our guided tour starts above the Cruz de Tejeda and primarily alng a ridge to Artenara where we take a short break to enjoy a spectacular panorama restaurand to later go on uphill into the pine forest of Tamadaba. From there we ride on a gravl road downhill via Tirma to El Risco at the west coast. Experienced cyclists can also ride along the spectacular coastel road to Agaete if the slopes do not seem to steep.
The participants should be able to ride on gravel roads, a short path next to a ridge the bike can also be pushed to get over some very steep slopes.
Mirador de Degollada - Artenara - Tamadaba - Tirma - El Risco
MTB-Tour über die Höhenzüge und durch die Pinienwälder des Nordwestens bis hinunter an die Steilküste bei Agaete
This unique and varied Gran Canaria Mountainbike tour strats after the ascension with our shuttle at the view point Mirador de la Degollada de las Palomas wich is located just a few hundred mters above the Cruz de Tejeda. After a small ascent on a forest road a small path leads along above a rockface and offer spectacular panorama views over the Caldera of Tejeda. Past to the more than 1700 meters high Los Moriscos we ride on moderate forest roads and tracks downhill to Artenara, the higest located village of Gran Canaria (1200). We visit the small Plaza and take a break in the La Cilla, a panorama restaurant wich can only be reacht through a tunnel.
After a small coffee break we take the ascension on the highway to the Pinar de Tamadaba, the biggest forest in the northwest of Gran Canaria. From here we turn on the track to Tirma to enjoy a kilometer long way downhill wich offers the most beautiful views from the westcoast to Tenerifa. Than, first we pass a lake and later the fince of Marquesa de Tirma, located lonely in the mountains abive El Risco.
The last ascension leads us to the rock walls right on the coastal road Anden Verde, the most beautiful Panorama roads in the west of Gran Canaria. The last 5 km we ride cozy downhill the paved GC-200 untill we finish our tou in the bar of El Risco, where we get collectet by the shuttle. Who here has not enought already can go on to Agaete, where though are many slopes to ride.
Dependent on the endurance and experience of the participants the rout can be varied in the sections.
